The basic effect of BPR is that it requires all products classed as biocides (e.g. disinfectants and sanitisers) to be authorised before they can be sold.
It is up to your business to ensure that your products are authorised.
If your products aren’t authorised you will not be allowed to sell them. For Bleach-based products this comes into effect on January 1st 2019.
If your products are not included in a Biocidal Product Dossier by this date you will no longer be able sell bleach based products. NO BPR – NO SALES!
Specific authorisation will be required for all products in-order for them to remain on the market. No authorisation – No sale of goods!
To gain authorisation, a comprehensive information pack (dossier) must be submitted for each product/family of products – including a list of all products within that family.
For bleach products, a dossier must be submitted by 01/01/2019. After this date any products not included in a dossier must be withdrawn from the market within 365 days.
If your bleach products are not listed in a Biocidal Authorisation Dossier you will have a limited period to sell through your remaining stock after which you will no longer be able to sell any type of bleach under your own label.
